In my Bible class a couple of weeks ago, my friend Jeff Tefertiller led us through a character study of the apostle Thomas. We talked about the moniker “Doubting Thomas” and whether or not he deserved that reputation because of his statement, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe” (John 20:25).
Jeff brought sheet music for “Thomas’ Song,” written by Ken Young (Lubbock Christian University grad and longtime worship minister for Churches of Christ) and taken from that story in John. Our class sang the hymn before our study.
I decided to look for a video version of the song I could share with you, so I Googled “Thomas’ Song a cappella” and got … well … this:
Whoops! Wrong Thomas. But catchy! I’m sure Sir Topham Hatt would appreciate this version!
After refining my search a bit more, I found this sheet-music-included version of the hymn on Ralph Byers’ YouTube page.
