Voices only: ‘Jehovah’

Welcome to Voices only. As much of the world prepares to celebrate the birth of Christ (and we eagerly anticipate his return), we present “Jehovah,” by Craig Smith, performed by the Drudge Family and Friends.

I’ve never heard this song before, but it’s a lovely expression that, to my mind, goes well with the season.

For a more traditional Christmas offering, here’s the Drudge Family singing the classic from the 1850s “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” (filmed as they searched for the perfect Christmas tree, apparently).

While “Jehovah” is another name for God, “Emmanuel” (or “Immanuel”) is “God with us.”
