$1 MILLION LILLY GRANTS

Abilene Christian University in Texas and Harding University in Searcy, Ark., have both received a $1 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
ACU’s grant will support the expansion and sustainability of its Ministry Residence Program in the Graduate School of Theology.
“We’re seeking to form and prepare the next generation of ministers for the life of the church,” said Mason Lee, the graduate school’s interim dean.
Harding’s grant will help establish the Christian Workers Institute through the Harding School of Theology. The institute will enable HST to “serve and equip the church” even better than it has for seven decades, said Peter Rice, the school’s dean.

Reggies Wenyika
ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH. — Rochester Christian University inaugurated its 11th president this fall in a campus investiture during homecoming festivities.
Reggies Wenyika began work at RCU on June 1, succeeding Brian Stogner, who resigned last December after leading RCHU for nearly nine years.
Wenyika previously served as president of Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., which is affiliated with American Baptist Churches USA.

YORK, NEB. — York University’s Center for Ministry recently held its first internship fair in the Campbell Activity Center.
Eleven churches and one camp from 10 states were represented, eager to share summer opportunities with students.
“As this was our first ministry fair, we were uncertain about what to expect, but we were really pleased with the outcome,” said Anessa Westbrook, co-executive director of the Center for Ministry. “The students displayed genuine interest, and attendance at the event was strong.”
